University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn Invites for English-Language Veterinary Medicine Programme Amid Rising Irish Interest

The University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM) in Olsztyn officials commented on their English-language Veterinary Medicine programme planned to run for the third time 2025/2026 academic year "The programme has seen an increase in applications from Irish students, reflecting a growing trend of international interest in the programme".

The 5.-year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) programme, accredited by the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE), offers a comprehensive curriculum that combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience. Students benefit from state-of-the-art facilities, including modern laboratories and a unique mobile clinic for farm animals and horses, providing hands-on training in various veterinary areas.

Notably, the programme's admission requirements have been structured to be accessible to a broader range of applicants. "Candidates need only to have completed their secondary education and pass an online interview focusing on biology and chemistry, without the necessity for specific subject grades or results. The surge in Irish applicants aligns with recent data indicating increased interest in agricultural and veterinary courses among Irish students at home. A number of places have already been secured by Irish students. Applications for the 2025/2026 academic year are currently open, with the second round of interviews scheduled for July 1, 2025.
